Our Mission
To support the structural pest control industry as stewards of health, food, and property—through education, leadership, public policy and advocacy. The APMA aims to ensure members are knowledgeable, professional, and profitable while promoting the industry's commitment to protecting public health and property.
Who We Are
The Alberta Pest Management Association (APMA) is a not-for-profit organization registered under the Alberta Societies Act. Members of the Association (also referred to as “the Society”) are structural pest management firms legally operating in Alberta, where the owner or operator is properly certified and current in industry training and continuing education requirements.
While membership in APMA is voluntary, it connects firms to education, regulatory updates, and a professional network dedicated to advancing structural pest management in Alberta. Through collaboration, advocacy, and shared industry insight, members strengthen not only their own businesses but also the standards and credibility of the industry as a whole.
Governance
APMA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of industry professionals representing pest management firms across Alberta. The Board provides strategic direction, policy oversight, and industry representation. They are supported by a contracted Virtual Administrator responsible for operational and administrative coordination.
Industry & Regulatory Environment
The structural pest management industry operates within a regulated framework at both the federal and provincial levels. APMA works collaboratively within this environment to support regulatory compliance, facilitate communication between industry and government, and provide education that ensures members remain current, informed, and professional in their practice.
